About Kinetic regulation techniques

KRT uses a steady flow of movement to communicate with the nervous system and release tension intuitively. It is based on 4 pillars of movement: passive movement, active movement, static holds, and contract/relax techniques. These 4 pillars include moving through ROM, rocking, oscillating, integrative breathing, and reciprocal inhibition to restore natural movement to the body.

KRT can be done as a stand alone modality utilizing a full body therapeutic sequence, or broken down and integrated into any other modality seamlessly. Clients remain fully clothed and may be positioned in prone, supine and side lying on the table. This not only allows full access to the muscles 3 dimensionally, it gives the therapist the opportunity to feel the muscle from all directions and tensions.

What to Expect

A kinetic session is done through clothing and is the most effective when clothing is nonrestrictive, like something you might wear to the gym. You may be positioned laying face up, face down, or on your side. The therapist uses a combination of compression, stretching, rhythmic movement and muscle activation to release tension in the body. This dynamic style of work provides more options for interacting with the muscles than with a regular lotion style massage.
